Hi, I am running php4.0.0 with mysql 3.22.32 and apache 1.3.12 on
Solaris 2.7 sparc.
It seems to me that the persistent connection feature is not working
right for me. I have set the following in php.ini
[MySQL]
mysql.allow_persistent = On
mysql.max_persistent = 5
mysql.max_links = -1
mysql.default_port =
mysql.default_host =
mysql.default_user =
mysql.default_password =
However each user still gets more than 5 persistent connections and they
are not dieing and just sit there and take up a connection. Is there
some reason why a connection would not be reused??? Could this be some
library error? I am using Solaris 7 and there are always issues when
compiling MySQL with PHP on solaris. What could be causing this weird
behavior? I am getting one user open up and open up 60 connections even
though it's the same user, same server, same password and the most
persistent connections per user is set to 5 (as you can see in the
config file).
It was suggested that I set the timeout for connections in mysql to a
lower number, but that defeats the point of a persistent connection.
Plus, it doesn't offer any clue as to why this is going on.
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks a lot.
