I email a spreadsheet as an attachment using mysql and php. Right now I
generate a comma delimited CSV file, and send that, but if one of the fields
has a \n then page get all messed up. I can str_replace commas to help
preserve the layout, but I have to preserve some formatting therefore cannot
str_replace the newline characters.
Is there an alternative to CSV files that I can generate that a Windows
clients can open in Excel? Can I specify somehow a different character to
denote a new row? Any help is greatly appreciated.
