ok ... I have been doing some more reading... the file uploads are limited by
a directive in php.ini, upload_max_filesize.. and it defaults to 2 meg. If
it is large it will act like nothing was uploaded.

Funny, because I can upload stuff that is close to 2mb (ie 1.99) but not over. I think it must be something to do with the default file limit, even though I have explicitly set itlarger, and also set the max size field in the form larger.
