I think he meant that he was getting this in his output, not in the (pretty much transparent and unnoticeable) HTTP header. If that's the case then indeed, if you use PHP from the command line, you need to quiet it up using -q. If you're getting this in the *output* of a web page, then you have PHP misconfigured somehow. If you actually checked the HTTP header that PHP spits out and didn't like the 'X-Powered-By' part, you can indeed disable it using expose_php=off in your php.ini. I just answered someone with the same question. Here's my answer to him: "This is so that it will be easier to track the install base of PHP. Right now PHP can only be detected under Apache which means we are missing quite a few. In any case, if you don't feel comfortable leaving it you can turn it off in your php.ini by changing expose_php to off." That is a content header I think. I don't know much about php and windows, but I know that for the cgi version of php you must enter "php -q" to suppress that header (-q = quiet mode) HTH -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-general-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-general-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
