Sorry about that.... accidentally hit the send button. Been up for a few days, can't see straight anymore. I'll try this again: Hello, I just got on the mailing list and found the recent message about HTTP_POST_VARS, which is good because I'm struggling with this now. I checked the servers's configuration (where I do development - not my server) and saw that the track_vars option was set. So I am perplexed as to why when I do a gettype() on $HTTP_POST_VARS it returns "string" and has nothing in it. I read the note: Re: [PHP] HTTP_POST_VARS and Arrays and saw that Rasmus Lerdorf said that something has to be selected for this array to have a value, but I'm definitely selecting things without success. This is where the form is generated: function update_schedule_page($u_array) { echo (" <CENTER><H2>Update Schedule</H2><HR>\n" . " <FORM ACTION='./admin.php3' METHOD='post'>\n " . " <TABLE BORDER=1 CELLPADDING='4'> \n" . " <TR> \n" . -----etc.etc--------- echo ( " <SELECT NAME='musician_list' SIZE='4' MULTIPLE> \n"); $array_length = count($u_array); for ($i=0; $i<$array_length; $i++) { echo (" <OPTION>" . $u_array[$i] . "\n"); } ") . echo (" </SELECT> \ etc, etc.... The script that calls the function above calls another function afterwards which then calls the function that does this: echo ("type: " .gettype($HTTP_POST_VARS)."<BR>"); << prints string echo ("http: " .$HTTP_POST_VARS); << prints nothing echo ("cfg: " .get_cfg_var("track_vars")); << prints 1 Is something wrong with this method? Thanks for your help, Kris
