Hi ! I'm trying to implement some system satus on my web-page. I would like to show system name, kernel name, OS name and some more things. I have found the posix_*() functions and aspecially the posix_uname() function. According to the doc's posix_uname() returns an array. Because of this, I have tried the following: $sysname = posix_uname(); echo "Something : " . sysname[1]; Another thing I'm having problems with, is the "\n" (newline) character. It doesn't seem to give me e newline :-( Have tried this with: echo "text\n"; print "test\n"; printf("text\n"); with absolutely no success. I would be happy if someone could give me a pointer to these problems. BTW, I'm running PHP4 on a RedHat 6.2 system. No upgrade rpm's are installed on my system. /Jocke!
