Hans,
In the main frame that you mentioned there should appear a text input field "Create
Database" with a "Go" button. I'm not quite sure, but maybe (phpMyAdmin is
really a great and smart tool!!!) phpMyAdmin checks the permissions of the user logged in, and
according to them displays or doesn't display the create database field. So check the
permissions (may_create) of the user you created ("girlie") in the database
"mysql".
