FWIW I found a work around this morning.....combine the simple search
form and the complex search form along with the select for the drop down
menu and use multiple submit buttons.
It seems html supports multiple submit buttons on the same form. The
value of the submit button can be passed with the form parameters if the
button is given a name attribute and unique value..."simple search" ,
"complex search"....then simply use a switch statement or if to
determine the type of search, in addition, the database selection value
will also be available for either search.
According to my html book this will work....I'll find out this
afternoon.
