if there aren't any session vars, $HTTP_SESSION_VARS won't be an array.
i use something like
if(isset($HTTP_SESSION_VARS)) {
reset($HTTP_SESSION_VARS);
while(list($k, $v) = each($HTTP_SESSION_VARS)) {
do_something($k,$v);
}
}
