In that case, $HTTP_SESSION_VARS is not an array because you have no session
variables yet...
session_start();
session_register('foo');
$foo = 42;
while (list($k, $v) = each($HTTP_SESSION_VARS)){
echo "$k ==> $v<BR>\n";
}
