Installation of php3

I want to make a database with Suse 6.3, MySql, php3 and apache. I'm never worked before with mysql and php3 and not used working with Suse. All 3 packages are installed with Suse so I think that must be good( I hope so). Mysql works with apache so thats ain't the problem. The problem is that I can't load the php3 code into a html side. The html code is working fine, but the navigator doesn't accept the hph3 code. I bougth a book about php and there was standing that the modules had to be active in apache or else they had to be written their. When I looked into the server modules I saw the php and php3 modules inactive. so i changed the code in httpd.conf so that they became active. The program still didn't worked. The book also said you had to compile the 3 packages, but i couldn's find the source of php ( mod_php). So when i compile the source he gives me an error. this is the error: In file included from Internal functions.c:72 functions/php3_gd:44: no such file or dir make: ***[internal_functions.o] Error 1 so what must i do to get this programme running? Am i even on the rigth track? or is their a very simple way to get this running? rinko
