session_set_save_handler in php4.01pl2 && enable-trans-sid questions

hi i'm running the latest php4 version, and as it seems (according to http://bugs.php.net/bugs.php?id=5519) the session_set_save_handler function is broken (or at least the write & close function-calls). is there a known workaround or patch that fixes this behavior? then, i couldn't get the automatic SID-adding feature to all relative links working (i compiled php4 with --enable-track-vars --enable-trans-sid) any help is appreciated greetz Flavio -- -=: http://no-way.org :=-
