Managing zone files with PHP

This is a random thought I had today. Anyone have any ideas how to do this well? I was thinking maybe let the user create the zone files via gui, And inserting into a sql table. Then when they are done adding/editting records, echo the db entries out into a zone file and replace the existing zone file. I'd rather work with that than complex regex and ereg_replaces(), unless someone has a better idea. - James
