Why would you want to do this? If you want to keep the code from your
customer's use the http://www.zend.com product. If
you're worried about
security, then look to you filesystem security, not encypting a php file,
sounds like a lot of overhead. Send more detail if your interested in a
response.

Has anybody heard about crypting/decrypting of php-scripts or done it?
Like: A php-script is writen and encryted using an external key. The
encrypted file is held on the webserver only. Once the webserver calls this
file a contained clear php-script retrieves the key from the specified url
and runs a decryption. After that the regular php-code is parsed.
