Works the same way. If you want to get really picky:
echo ${'check'.${i}};

The circumstances must have been different. As of php 4.1.0, over here,
that returns nothing in this context:
<?php
$i = '384';
$Check = 'Checkbox';
$Check384 = 'Combined';
print $Check[$i]; /* prints nothing */
?>
