Which SSL package are you using? I've had trouble in the past with ApacheSSL and PHP3 not working together (in general, not with sessions) on Linux, though a FreeBSD friend of mine claims to have it working without problems. I've had no problems with mod_ssl. We're using Raven here at work and believe that it is causing sessions to break. PHP has no problem writing to /tmp; sess_* files are created, but they remain 0 bytes. We're not entirely sure that Raven is causing the problems, but without it (and a few other module differences), sessions work fine. The apache error log shows the following. Perhaps you have a similar message? Warning: Failed to write session data. Please check that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp/sessions) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: write failed: Bad file descriptor (9) in Unknown on line 0
This probably doesn't help at all, but it may help to narrow down the cause of the problem. seth On Wed, 26 Jul 2000, Sean Mason wrote: > Yes, I have looked through the php.ini file.
