The only database I know is running under MacOSX is MySQL, how many hits
do you expect?

You can always run BBEdit under BlueBox.. (http://web.barebones.com/), I
use it for all
of my PHP programming.

You have to compile it so download the source instead. Let me know if you
need help with the configuration.

The source.. MacOSX is based on FreeBSD but you have to compile it for
the PPC-processor.
It's not very complicated.
Good Luck,
