There is a group of functions that handle IMAP, POP3, and NNTP servers. All of these are documented in the manual under IMAP... and should cover any operation that your should need for accessing mailboxes. Regarding your other question, IMP is a PHP-based web mail system, but I don't think that it uses MySQL. IMP, and several other related tools are avaiable at http://www.horde.org/ Thanks.
