Configure Options

I know this is going to sound dumb, but I was curious about some of the
configure options when compiling PHP 4.0. I ran ./configure --help and it
listed all the different options, but I'm not exactly sure how or why I
would use some of these other options. When I configured, I only ran:
/configure --with-apache=(directory) --enable-track-vars
The mySQL support appears to have been added automatically since I can
connect to and use mySQL from within my PHP scripts.
SO what functionality will I not be able to use? AM I precluded from using
the image options, or the PDF (FDF) options, or even the SWF options?
