If you had to change the setup of PHP and you have it installed as a static
module within Apache (I am making an assumption that you are using Apache,
even though I do not see it in your email), you will need to recompile
Apache as well.
You didn't mention any of this in your email, but it is something that I ran
across when I was first setting it up as well which gave me similar
difficulties as the ones you are experiencing.

Hi, it's me, DESPERATE again. I NEED to get php configured and working on
my server. I've followed the instructions in *PHP Professional* explicitly
for the installation, yet it doesn't work. To review, here are the problems:
The browers doesn't read pages as php pages. It offers them for download
instead. I've added this line to the httpd.conf:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3 .php
but to no avail. If anyone wants to look at my code (all generated by the
installation of the distro with the above exception), you may go here:
http://TheWebsons.com/httpd.conf
http://TheWebsons.com/php.ini-dist
http://TheWebsons.com/php.ini-optimized
Hey, if no one can take the time to help me sort this out, I understand:
we're all busy. But *where* can I find answers for this problem??? I HAVE
to get this resolved, and quickly, so I can continue to eat. PLEASE help.
Thank you,
BenO
