Did you try running it --with-php-config=PATH?
yup & --with-phpize etc , always the same error , php-config --version gives 5.1.0-dev which is the snapshot version
errr is there anything wrong in here ?? + ZEND_MODULE_API_NO=' 20041031' looks wrong but I have not a clue what I am looking other than its a timestamp..&& an old one at that.

grrrrrrrr ... OK ,
.. removed all the build tools & now have the recommended
autoconf 2.13, automake 1.4 and libtool 1.4.3 , I searched for all
traces of aclocal since it seemed to be in several places and removed
them before compiling the above.. , aclocal --print-ac-dir seems to give
the correct output
php5.1 CVS would not make for me , not evean an error as such .. however
a 5.1 snapshot did (using the above tools)
On to php-gtk ( rm -rf *.cache ) I still get the below... which , to be
fair is different to what I am used to and a change is as good as a rest
;)
[root@home php-gtk]# aclocal
[root@home php-gtk]# ./buildconf
rebuilding aclocal.m4
rebuilding configure
configure.in:8: /usr/bin/m4: Undefined macro `AC_PROG_EGREP'
autoconf: Undefined macros:
configure.in:23: AC_MSG_ERROR(Cannot find php-config. Please use
--with-php-config=PATH)
make[1]: *** [configure] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
anyone on fedora/rh here that can give me any numbers that worked for them
?

Simon

Simon you need PHP 5.1 to compile PHP-GTK2
When i do something with php-gtk all times i go to gnome devolper web
or to the gnome devolper book, the PHP-GTK docs can´t based on the
gnome docs?¿ what need to get the docs of PHP-GTK to add some examples
and explanations of PHP-GTK2, I think that the best help to learn is
with goog examples ... I can write some examples for many widgets ...
but i don´t know when can i download the docs of php-gtk2

OK so giving up on debian (Xandros) for now (could not build on Ubuntu
even following instructions here), I am reinstalling Fedora & crossing
my fingers it builds.
To parrot Madeleine ...
`If it were here yesterday, it
wouldn't be soon enough.`
... too right , php-gtk is (IMO) a serious part of PHP's future , all
the ..
whoot , while writing php-5.0.4 finally built (CVS would not build for
me) , so a deep breath and here I go :D

Simon.

I got demotivated by the slowness of Gtk+ startup in Tiger and by the

PHP-GTK if it'll be just another undocumented project?
