This is a user question. Please use the appropriate forum for it.
(That would be php-gtk-general@lists.php.net)
I'm not talking about what you're aiming to achieve here, I'm talking about
the question itself, which is basically about how to save a file as far as I
can see. That is in no way a development question.
If you figure out (or someone on php-gtk-general tells you) how to save a
file and you find it doesn't work under PHP-GTK 2, it's called a 'bug'. You
should report bugs to http://bugs.php.net as a PHP-GTK issue.
Please, as I said to you already, there is more than enough noise on this
list, and practically none on php-gtk-general over the last few months. The
kind of questions you're asking aren't development issues, they're user
issues. And out there somewhere, there are users who will be more than
happy to see some life in the project, because they don't necessarily
subscribe to the developers list so don't know just how busy it is here (and
why should they?) - all they see is 'nothing's happening'. There are people
who aren't subscribed to the dev list, but can tell you exactly how you
should be saving your file. Use those people. Not the people who wrote the
stuff and just hope it works.
