Hello readers, Currently PHP-Gtk2 implements the default constructors of GtkComboBox: default without parameters, one new_text() which automatically creates a text model and new_with_model which allows a model as parameter. I would suggest dropping the latter and adding an optional parameter to the default constructor. Anyone against this?
I am not against this change or any of the others that you have proposed so far, but I think we once had a motto of "stick with the GTK API". Making all of these API changes will make it a little more difficult to create a new backward compatible version of PHP-GTK. All of the customizations (such as optional constructor arguments) will have to be added again in the new version. Also, dropping stuff from the GTK API will make it more difficult for people coming from the GTK world to adopt PHP-GTK. Scott
