Pablo, This is the email you sent me on December 18.
This clone gives me a segmentation fault. Am I missing something somewhere ? or there's something wrong internally ? <?php
        $janela = new GtkWindow;
        $vbox = new GtkVBox;
        $janela->add($vbox);
        $botao1 = new GtkButton('botao 1');
        $botao2 = clone $botao1;
        $botao2->set_label('botao 2');
        $vbox->pack_start($botao1);
        $vbox->pack_start($botao2);
        $janela->show_all();
        Gtk::Main();
?> best regards Pablo
Did you see my reply?
Hmm, cloning might be problematic. I don't know if Gtk+ supports the concept of copying an object with all its possible hierachies and properties.. and doing it manually is pretty difficult too.

I think it's time we had a beta release. We're at 94.01% overall coverage (including the Scintilla and SourceView extensions) [1]; and have a significant number of new features/extensions since the alpha release; most importantly custom Tree models.
Before we make another release, I think we should make sure there aren't any extant bugs. For example, there's still the cloning crash that Pablo described. I replied saying that we may not be able to support cloning due to complicated structure of internal Gtk+ objects, but I haven't heard anything back. Are there other bugs we are aware of?
I'm activelly using php-gtk2 since its first release. I don't remember of any other bug like the clone support. Just when using php-gtk2 on windows the set_cursor() method from GdkWindow has a weird behavior, but I'm not sure it's a Gtk problem or the underling environment... I'm not sure but I guess it gives me a warning when I use pair numbers... in a loop from 1 to 255... $gdkwindow->set_cursor(new GdkCursor(68)); Pablo
However, before we go about it, we'll have to decide on whether to include the following: 1) 2.8/2.10 Support. Elizabeth has provided patches for this, and the build system will automatically build the latest version found on the system. I've extended this to work on Linux and OSX.
I'm fine with this as long as we make it clear in our builds which version they support. We should also encourage developers to explicitly check for the Gtk+ version in their applications.
2) The GtkHTML3 and libsexy extensions.
Sure, these can be included (just the bindings, right?).
4) Move to native Scintilla (Tom's Scintilla) instead of GtkScintilla. This one's on me and I'll get around to it soon enough.
I would appreciate it. It seems that our TODO2 list is somewhat out of date. Could people please look at the Classes and Functions section and remove the items that have been implemented? -Andrei
