I know bob had an installer working on ubuntu flavors - might want to make something like that available for the linux newcomers. http://oops.opsat.net/doc/gtk/unix-installer.html (I know it works on ubuntu - does kubuntu have the needed gtk libs? Thought that was all qt, kde based)I will be out all Saturday EST time in Chicago tomorrow, so a 2.0.0 official release super uber mega spectacular "installer" will probably be up monday. If you wanna try it now just to see if it works, I would suggest it. Though really the current version for linux is actually up to date I think, just named old as it was a CVS release at the time. Else on that same site i have a tutorial for compiling, and if you are able to do that, that should work just as well. The compiling tutorial is pretty detailed in the packages you need to install, did that special for Ubuntu. Being on Kubuntu you might need to add a libgtk-2.0-dev or something to the list. KateOS probably will not update for some time still. As with every milestone, I have to spend a good deal of time selling the lead to include it in the repository :) I hope what I said made sense. I think it did. Just got home. Night night. -- Bob Majdak Jr KateOS Rofflecopter Pilot http://www.kateos.org
