Do we want to do this? When was --php-binary added to php-config?

I receive the message "Could not locate PHP executable" after try to install PHP-GTK on Fedora Linux 7 / Apache 2.2.8 / PHP 5.2.6. This message is in configure script, in my case, at line 3937. I saw that the line 3917 has this test: "if test -x $PHP_PREFIX/bin/php; then ..." In fact it was checking if my PHP executable is in default path, but, in my case, it is at "/usr/bin/php" (I've changed in PHP compilation). I don't understand why it could not use "php-config --php-binary" to determine the PHP executable location. I could create a symbolic link in "$PHP_PREFIX/bin/php", but I change the configure script to do this test: " PHP=$PHP_CONFIG --php-binaryif [ -x "$PHP" -o -x "$PHP_PREFIX/bin/php" ]; then ...if [ -x "$PHP_PREFIX/bin/php" ]; then PHP=$PHP_PREFIX/bin/php fi... " And it works. The code is not so good, but the suggestion is to use "php-config" not only to determine PHP_PREFIX, but the PHP executable too.
