I saw that append_item is in gtk.defs, but I can't use it from php... I assume there is no chance for it? I've digged around in the gtk sources and have one conclusion:With the missing of "insert_element" and "insert_item", the GtkToolbar is only half as usable as it should be. E.g. the automatical creation of toolbar items with icons and callbacks is not possible. Now I don't know if I should make a php function which emulates the complete insert_element behavior, or just note in the manual that it really really long winded to use the toolbar?
