Hello,
I'm trying to get php-gtk working on a debian linux system and am having some
trouble. I'm using:
machine:~$ gtk-config --version
1.2.10
and:
machine:~$ php --version
PHP 4.3.9RC2 (cgi) (built: Sep 1 2004 15:12:50)
I've downloaded the 1.0.0 source tar.gz from the website, and when I try to
run buildconf, I get the following:
machine:~/php-gtk-1.0.0$ ./buildconf
configure.in:9: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_WITH_PHP_CONFIG
run info '(automake)Extending aclocal'
or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/automake.html#Extending%20aclocal
configure.in:32: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_BUILDDIR
configure.in:33: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_DIR
configure.in:34: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_EXT_SRCDIR
configure.in:35: warning: underquoted definition of PHP_ALWAYS_SHARED
aclocal: cannot open php_gtk.m4: No such file or directory
make: *** [buildmk.stamp] Error 1
So I looked around and I see php_gtk_new.m4 and php_gtk_old.m4. Being
optimistic,
I coped php_gtk_new.m4 to php_gtk.m4 and buildconf then completed
successfully
in spite of about 100 "underquoted definition of" warning messages. Then I
did
./configure and that completed also. The make starts off fine, but then
blows up
part way through with this:
ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c:1: syntax error before '<' token
ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c:2: too many decimal points in floating constant

make: *** [ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.lo] Error 1
looking at the file ext/gtk+/gen_gtk.c I see that the first 4 lines are
as follows:
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: fopen(--): failed to open stream: No such file or
directory in <b>/root/packages/php-gtk-1.0.0/generator/scheme.php</b> on
line <b>110</b><br />
<br />
<b>Warning</b>: fgets(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource
in <b>/root/packages/php-gtk-1.0.0/generator/scheme.php</b> on line
<b>34</b><br />
which is of course not valid C code. These errors are, I believe, coming
from the
Defs_Parser constructor (in generator/scheme.php) which is being called from
generator/generator.php, which is being executed directly from the
Makefiles in
many places with "--" as the first argument. I was hoping perhaps someone
could
point me at the root of the problem. Thanks very much!
