Hi,
Embedding it into any of the php binaries (php.exe or php-win.exe) wold
not do you any good. You are not using any of these files to edit the
content of the php scripts. The OS will not execute the associated
executable to figure out which icon to show with a script file. Changing
the icon has to be done by the editor or some external program that
informas the OS what icon to show. This external program could be the
installer.
In the case of PhostShop, the exe file is the editor and it has full
control over the content of the file and can instruct the OS to look for a
bitmap inside that file or in any other file installed with the program.
