Hello Folks
I hope not bothering you all, but....
I've just finished the version 2.5 release 16 of Agata Report.
If there is someone using it, will like to know that it has several new features. And for those
ones that don't use this yeat, it can be a usefull example to start programming with php-gtk.
Let's go to new features:
- It uses Pear:DB as Database abstraction Layer. It can connect to several databases, but it was
only enough tested with Postgres, MsSql, Interbase and Informix;
- A new tool was developed, "Merge tool" that allows you to make custom reports (free
designed), with subfields, subQueries, and so on. The user can insert PostScript controls, like
fonts, lines, line heights, symbols, page numbers, and son on. It generates a PostScript file;
- New supported languages: swedish, italian, deutsh, beyond English, Portuguese and French;
- There is a new built-in help available several languages;
- The user may saves and load his selects and reports designed through Merge tool;
- The user may type free selects, He doesn't need to desing his query through Agata.
- The user may edit each line of select and to add or to remove elements through list editor from
Agata.
- New configuration section: fields size, decimal separators ("," or "."),
orientation (portrait or Lanscape).
The following is to those ones that never heard about Agata: It's sounds like an announcement,
hehehehe ;)
Agata Report is a graphical tool, written in PHP-GTK that allows you to edit and get SQL results
from several Databases.
It connects to database, lists its tables, fields and allows linking among tables, make
constraints, orders, to apply functions and make queries. It generates results to PostScript or TXT
file.
The version (2.0) has several new features. Sql edition (simple click), user help and Merge tool.
Merge tool allows you to write any document (f.i. letter) and insert any variable from a SQL query
into it. You may define SubQueries too. Merge tool have several symbols, lines and fonts. Merge tool
generates a PostScript file.
The next version that have been prepared will have a Label Generator tool.
Currently, Agata have English, Portuguese, Italian, French, German and Swedish versions.
Agata connects to PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SyBase, MsSql, FrontBase, Informix and InterBase.
Agata was enough tested only with PostgreSQL, Informix, MsSql and InterBase.
