There was a path problem, but I was able to resolve that by coping the
"imagick.so" or telling PHP where to look for it by setting the extension
path variable in the php.ini file. I think Christoph is right the
dependencies of php4-imagick are not correct.
Thanks

be careful running this under root.

I got the same error last week when I was arround on an unstable debian,
with php4-magick apt-get'd.
I don't remember clearly what the admin did to resolve the problem, I think
it
was something with the php.ini conf file, to set the path of the extentions.
( The /etc/php.ini on my Mandrake contains this:
extension_dir = /usr/lib/php/extensions ; )
If it is not this and if you don't find the solution,
send me a mail and I will ask him details.
I have also noticed small differences on debian about the shebang.
« #! /usr/bin/env php » did not work
I had have to put back « #! /usr/bin/php4 -q »
Well, if you get too much problems with Knoppix,
Mandrake just did a live CD too :)
