Hi Y'all
Speaking as someone desperately trying (and struggling badly) to
understand/learn how to program using PHP-GTK could I make a request?
Firstly, I am quite an accomplished php (script, not object!) coder, but
haven't got a clue about oop (Object Oriented Programming) and the way
things connect to each other in a (gui) interface.
I have built a control engine for a x-platform system I have built on
the Mac (OSX Panther), using applescript, and it works perfectly. The
same script based system works on PCs, but I need to replicate the
function and appearance of the Mac based controller on a PC and I want
to use PHP-GTK as it can be encrypted (preventing script-kiddies from
fiddling!).
So here is my request for help:
Limited funds are available if someone can turn it round quickly for me!
If anyone wishes to help me out with either advice, tutorials or even
'actual programming help' (I'm at the end of a 2-year project that has
taken 16 hrs a day, 6 days a week for the last 2 years! So I'm pretty
well burnt out after generating 8 million lines of code!) I would
welcome them with open arms. The control engine will be provided to the
Uniform Server Project at Sourceforge to add to their project, as well
as being integrated into my project which uses a variant of the Uniform
Server for the Windows variant.
I'm quite happy to open-source the controller once built as it may well
help others to teach others (Including me!) how to use PHP_GTK.
If anyone wants to find out a little more about the project, please go
to www.dutycrew.net (Single page at the moment! More to come!). Betas
are only available for Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) at the moment, but I do
have a version of the software that runs on a PC, but it's a pain to get
it working when compared to the mac version.
Please contact me directly (i.e. Not on the list) if you want more
details or specs. I do have a prototype interface that reacts to mouse
overs and mouse clicks, but that's as far as I've got. It was built up
using Glade and In-PHP.
Keep up the good work!
cheers
