Might be something do with the "decoration" of the window. The border
might be 1pixel thick! Of course, this is only a guess...

Too bad, but it is. But there's sure to be a (better) alternate, else
they wouldn't do it!

Yeah, PHP-Gtk2 is in progress, the docs are bound to be skimpy, but
we're working on it! Meanwhile, you could always refer the Gtk2.6 docs
at gtk.org; just convert the C-ish style of their code to a more
PHP-OOP style, and you should be fine.
If you want just plain text entries; you shouldn't have any
difficulty, just use the convenience function: append_text() on a
GtkComboBox::new_text().
Of course, if you want a "tree" view, then you'll have to use the
model, and it gets messy.

Yeah, that's quite enough.

All images have to converted to the XPM format before you use them.
Again, to see what's been deprecated, atleast for now, you can refer
to the original Gtk manual. Also, Christian has an interesting utility
called the PHP-Gtk2 Inspector. It tells you what functions/classes you
can use and what their parameters are. You can get at the "channel"
section of gnope.org; it's called Dev_Inspector.

It would be cool, but as what you want requires a little effort
(IMO!), you might just do better without it!
Cheers!
