I thought all style colours were expressed in XcmsColor, ie. (65535, 0, 0) for red, etc. Or is it different for an rcstyle? I realize you guys have this all worked out, but I want to know if I'm labouring under a misconception or not.
From the Gtk docs: http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/gtk-Resource-Files.html Colors can be specified as a string containing a color name (GTK+ knows all names from the X color database /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt), in one of the hexadecimal forms #rrrrggggbbbb, #rrrgggbbb, #rrggbb, or #rgb, where r, g and b are hex digits, or they can be specified as a triplet { r, g, b}, where r, g and b are either integers in the range 0-65535 or floats in the range 0.0-1.0. This goes for rc files and GdkColor. Scott Hi Scott,
Yeah, I read that, too. But in practise, when I've tried passing a colour with numbers like (255, 255, 255) it always comes up black, which leads me to believe that 65535 is full intensity. When I pass a colour as (FFFFFF) I get an error saying I can't pass a string. I'd dig up the example for you, but since I twigged on using XcmsColor notation, I threw all my failed attempts away. It's not that I don't believe the docs; I've just never gotten it to work. But then, I'm known for going at things from odd angles. :-) -Ron T. -- Ron Tarrant Blog:<A HREF="http://www.writingup.com/blog/phpgtk2">PHP-Gtk2</A>
