Probs with query

Hi, I am using PHP4.0.1 to connect to and run queries to Mysql. The problem is that none of the queries will work from within PHP. The code: $sql="CREATE TABLE jobs (id int(6), cust char(30))" // $conn is the connection to the database which I have checked and works fine, the database name is right etc.. // and yes I have changed the priveliges in the 'mysql' file itself so that the user has permission to do "Create_priv" // --- I even tried it as "root" (all permissions enabled) but it would still not run !! $result=mysql_query($sql,$conn) or die("Could not run query"); The query just will not work, although it will work fine if I execute it within the Mysql Monitor. Doubtless there is some setting that needs to be checked/changed. HELP...!!!! (Apologies if this is not the right forum - if so could someone direct me to a more appropriate forum.) regds S.Garstin
