Mcrypt and php make

I have searched through the archives and I cannot find an answer that will work for me to get mcrypt support installed with php. Using the latest php snapshot as well as have tried 4.3.1 Any help at this point would be mucho appreciated - I am building rather than using a binary due to some extentions that I can not find in ANY binaries anywhere on the net. I have managed to get it compiled b4 on OS 10.2.4 - but not on the machine I am trying now.
