Just a comment, we are using PHP CGI's with Apache, because we wanted that
all PHP scripts of our users
be executed via suexec wrapper ... much more security that way.
I think those few config lines will fix your problem ... gimme some
feedback.
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php4 .php3 .phtml
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
Action application/x-httpd-php /cgi-bin/php
<IfModule mod_alias.c>
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/www/cgi-bin/"
<Directory "/www/cgi-bin">
AllowOverride None
Options -Indexes +ExecCGI
SetHandler cgi-script
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
</IfModule>
Comment out the line "AddHandler cgi-script .cgi"
