Hi!
I think the most tricky part about upgrading php is to update the php.ini
the right way... As you should replace the ini with the new version
everytime you upgrade you set everything to default. So here are some
configuring-tips with 4.3.1:
register_globals is off by default (maybe you need it as you have older
progs running?)
If you are running php with the cgi-version (which is not recommended) you
have to take care about the cgi.force_redirect (set it to off)
On windows you also have to define the from-adress (mail-options after
dynamic extensions) to a valid existing email-adress if you are not using
localhost as mail-server (i got some relay-errors because of this...).
At last you have to remember which dynamic extensions you loaded in your
older version.
Generally it is a good idea to make a backup of your php-version (copy the
whole c:\php-folder if you have installed it there?), and do not forget to
keep your old php.ini (just rename it like php.ini.old or something like
this) so that you can look up things if you forgot something (which happened
to me with the mime-module :( )
Hope i could give some advice,
.ma
