PHP - 4.3.1 / --with-imap install problem

Hi All I am trying to install php with the --with-imap extention, the command I ran was. ./configure --with-mysql --with-dom --with-xml --with-zlib-dir=/usr/local -- enable-track-vars --with-apache=../apache_1.3.27 --with-gettext --with- imap=/usr/local/imap-2002c1 but when I ran make, it displayed the attached error messages. I then removed the php directory, un-tarred it again and ran ./configure --with-mysql --with-dom --with-xml --with-zlib-dir=/usr/local -- enable-track-vars --with-apache=../apache_1.3.27 --with-gettext and then ran make, and it worked perfectly, Can anyone offer any adivce or assistance?
