PHP 4.3.1 and PayFlow

I am attempting to compile PHP with PayFlow Pro support.
OS: RedHat Linux 9
PHP: 4.3.1
PayFlow Pro SDK: 3.0.6
I followed these instructions from the PHP manual:
Copy the header file pfpro.h to /usr/local/include and the library file
libpfpro.so to /usr/local/lib.
I then run ./configure --with-apxs --with-pfpro=shared,/usr/local
which terminates abnormally with these errors:
checking for Verisign Payflow Pro support... yes
checking for pfproInit in -lpfpro... no
checking for PNInit in -lpfpro... no
configure: error: The pfpro extension requires version 2 or 3 of the SDK
As stated above, I am using version 3.0.6 of the SDK. Has anyone had
success with
compiling 3.0.6 of the SDK with PHP 4.3.1? Any ideas or suggestions would
be appreciated.
