--withmysql error

I suspect this has been beat to death, however I can seem to find back copies of this list. Sorry if it's a duplicate. While trying to install PHP 4.0.2 with "--with-msql=/usr/local/mysql" the configure and compile run without any obvious errors. When I try to start Apache (1.3.12) I get the following error: syntax error on line 238 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpsd.conf: Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so into server: ld.so.1: /usr/local/apache/bin/httpsd: fatal: relocation error: file /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so: symbol __eprintf: referenced symbol not found Am using gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) If I remove the "--with-mysql" line it works fine.
