installing GD Lib as Shared

Hello List Members,
i have a problem when i want to install the GD Lib shared.
The Documentation tells me i have 2 ways to do that.
1.) --with-gd=shared
2.) --with-gd=shared,/usr/local/
but the only way how it works here, is as static
--with-gd
on the 2 examples above, phpinfo() does not tell me that
there is support for the GD lib.
only when i compile it static, phpinfo() tells me information
about it.
Anyone can help ?
