Good Day,
Or it will be anyway, as soon as I can get Apache to load my
upgraded PHP 4.0.2.
Short Description:
Apache error on start: "Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so into
server: libmhash.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file
or directory"
The libmhash.so.2 file (along with other newly installed shared
objects/libraries - curl, mcrypt, gd, libpng) are located in the
/usr/lib/apache directory. I have added /usr/lib/apache to my
ld.so.conf file and run /sbin/ldconfig -- same error before and after.
I feel pretty close to success here, but even more likely to whack it
all if I do the wrong thing next. Any suggestions?
Jim
More details:
I am running Apache 1.3.12 with DSO support, installed from
RedHat's secureweb RPM, on RH 6.2. During my upgrade ordeal, I
found that I somehow managed to create multiple Apache
installations during my original install, so I removed them and
started (hopefully) fresh. Once my newest Apache was running
fine, I reconfigured and did make/make install on PHP. It installed
the libphp4.so file somewhere other than where it instructed
httpd.conf to look for it - changing the path to libphp4.so to match
it's actual location canged Apache's error from "I can't find your
object" to the "I can't do what it wants me to" error listed above.
No sleep, too much coffee, several cranky clients and counting...
Help is greatly appreciated.
Jim
