Hi,
All PHP needs is the libraries oracle comes with, so the simple solution is to download the free trial version of Oracle 8 for linux/x86 and build it on your linux box (you don't need to actually run the daemon) and set ORACLE_HOME environmental variable. Then run configure --with-oracle again and it should find the requisite libraries and install the support. You can then connect to a database over the LAN from PHP.

Hello All, I'd like to know if I can build PHP 4.x on a Intel Linux box so that it can connect to a Solaris box on another machine. If so how?
