Hey,
In case anyone screws this up as well as I have in the past day... I
found that libphp4.so is built from a file called libphp4.la which
contains a list of dependencies that are added to on subsequent
builds, but at least in my case, not removed. Removing the source
directory and starting fresh from the tarball made life much better.
I'm just on a barebones install now though (apxs & mysql). I want
to add support for mcrypt, mhash, gd, and curl. Since my earlier
problems stemmed from Apache not finding those
libraries/modules where it expected them, which flag would I add to
make sure that the install puts them in /etc/httpd/modules ? If I
were to guess, I'd go with --libdir=/etc/httpd/modules but I've
guessed my way into fifteen hours of misery at this point.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
J!M
