There have been a few folks over the last couple of weeks with Win98/PWS
problems and today you two with ME/pws.
In general the win98 people have got things going by either messing around
until things worked, or reinstalling PWS.
The question is, what is wrong in the first place - if we can find that out,
we might be able to do something about it. Certainly people seem to have the
same problem whether installing manually or using the installer (not
surprisingly, since the installer does what it says in the instructions!).
I don't have Win 95, 98 or ME to test on, although when I first wrote the
installer, I visited all my friends with such machines, and then installed
PWS and PHP. In every case, everything worked fine first time. The only
difference I can see between my tests and your setups is that I was working
with a brand new fresh installation of PWS.
Is there some 'baggage' it picks up in its lifetime - e.g. lots of different
'scriptmap' nodes in the registry which override the scriptmap node that you
(or the installer) set up in the root scripmap?
The more information you can give us, the more reliable we will get these
installations!
Cheers
