Dave, When you compile PHP, it needs to know where the apache related files will need to go. Typically you do this by configuring (notice I did not say compiling) apache one time before configuring php, then configure php with the option --with-apache=/path/to/apache/src/. After this, once you compile php you will then probably need to reconfigure apache (using the same location info) and then compile it. I know it sounds strange, but its a process like any other...has to be done in the right order. There is a nice article on the LAMP install (Linux Apache Mysql PHP) on devshed.com. You might use that as a guide. Good luck! Under my apache install dir, after i config and make php4, the file apache-x.x.x/src/modules/php4/libphp4.a doesn't exist. I've gone into the directory and nothing is there. I didn't get any errors during the php4 config and make. Why isn't the file being created? -dave -- PHP Install Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, e-mail: php-install-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For additional commands, e-mail: php-install-help@lists.php.net To contact the list administrators, e-mail: php-list-admin@lists.php.net
