Hi,
I am trying to install PHP4.0.2 in apache as a module. I have php3
running fine but want the new features of 4. I am trying to install
php4 on an IRIX 6.5.7 box with apache 1.3.12.
The first time I did the ./configure..., make... it died in the make of
zend execute but I ran it again after removing the config.cache and the
following finish happily:
rainier 4# rm config.cache
rainier 5# ./configure --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/
--enable-track-vars --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
I then moved php.ini and only change the include dir, and I modified
httpd.conf for apache to load the php4 module send the .php files to
php4.
I was only successful in getting php4 to work for very simple code but
it does a segmentation fault as reported by the apache error-log file
when I call anything more complicated than phpinfo() or echo... for
instance mail() or the following causes it to return the 'document
contained no data' window which usually means the segmentation fault.
<html>
<head>
<title>PHP Test</title>
</head>
<body>
<?php echo "Hello World<P>"; ?>
<hl>
<form action="action.php3" method="POST">
Your name: <input type=text name=name>
You age: <input type=text name=age>
<input type=submit>
</form></body>
</html>
An interesting thing was that in phpinfo() it reports that it used the
default mysql version of 3.23 instead of the 3.22.xxx I have installed
and I gave ./configure the mysql path.
I hope I have not overlooked a bug report or email list search. Any
suggestions? I suspect I am rather close to getting it to work or... I
don't know? 8-)
Thanks for any suggestions!
Dean
