Hello:
I'm new to the list, please excuse me if this has been covered already,
but I haven't found what I'm looking for online or in the archives.
I'm trying to install PHP-4.0.2 with IMAP support, with the following
configuration:
- RedHat 6.1-based linux system
- Apache 1.3.12
- PHP 4.0.2
- imap c-client , imap-2000.RELEASE-CANDIDATE.7 (built with make slx)
I'm compiling mod_php as a static module, and it appears to build
without issue, finding the IMAP c-client libraries and headers without a
problem. However, I get what appears to be a crash when I run a simple
test (with a real nntp host, user and password supplied):
<?php
echo "<!-- Before imap_open -->";
$imap = imap_open("{x.x.x.x/nntp:119}","xxxx","yyyy");
echo "<!-- After imap open -->";
?>
The output shows the first echo statement, but not the second, and so
the script appears to just quit or crash. Nothing is showing up in the
apache error_log , system log or browser to indicate an error or crash.
I'm having no problems with the rest of the PHP build (as far as I can
tell), but am fairly new to PHP, so:
- where are the error messages going, if not the server error_log or
/var/log/messages?
- have I missed something in the configuration/build process?
- if the imap extension is causing a segfault or something, where would
the core file be written?
Thanks,
Michael Kahn
