And the workaround is... Everything is now working better and faster by developing on a Linux box. I'm trying to upload a file using a browser form and the elementary code available on php.net (Win32 specific User Contributed Notes). Every time I try uploading anything (including trying modifying the code) php.exe crashes. Has anyone experienced this trying to upload files with PHP 3.0.17 for Win32? It appears php.exe doesn't even get so far as starting to execute the php file design to handle the upload before crashing. The code I am creating is destined for a Linux server. However this file uploading should be the only Win32 specific code I will be using (since all the rest will only involve MySQL database access). However if it is the considered opinion of the list that I would be much better off also developing on a Linux server, I'll consider doing that instead. --- I've isolated the problem further with this HTML: <html> <form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="upload3.php" method=POST> <input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="1000000"> Send this file: <input name="userfile" type="file"> <input type="submit" value="Send File" name="submit"> </form> </html> What is disturbing about this is that php.exe crashes (even) when upload3.php doesn't exist!
